BMO analyst Keith Bachman has released an investment note that predicts Apple Inc. sold somewhere between 2.4 and 2.5 million Macs during the three months ended June 30. That number, if correct, would represent a 40 percent increase over last year's second quarter. New Mac users are good for old Mac users because they force software companies to treat the Apple platform seriously. A few years back, Mac users couldn't get half as many programs as their PC counterparts.
