The next monthly meeting of the Rochester Genealogical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17 in the Fellowship Hall of the Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave. Admission is free open to the public. The main presentation is “Researching New England and the Canadian Provinces” with David Allen Lambert. Lambert has been designated “The Online Genealogist” by the NewEngland Historic Genealogical Society. He has been on the staff there since 1993 and has published articles in several publications. He has a best-selling book called “A Guide to Cemeteries in Massachusetts” and “Images of Stoughton, Massachusetts,” a photographic history of his hometown. Lambert’s genealogical expertise includes specialties in New England and Atlantic Canadian research, military records, and Native American and African American genealogical research. He has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including the PBS-TV show History Detectives. He is currently authoring a book on the vital,church, and cemetery records of Stoughton from 1726 to 1900. Lambert will share his knowledge of how to find records of your ancestors in New England, and particularly in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. He will also explore researching in the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
