Filed under: MLB Gossip Everybody's favorite Communist, Fidel Castro , is getting himself pumped up about the Olympics in a few weeks. He's got every reason in the world to be excited about them, as Cuba has come home with the gold medal in baseball three of the four times since it became a medal sport back in 1992. Still, Fidel does have some reason to be upset as his Cuban national team just lost to the United States in the championship game of the Haarlem Baseball Week tournament in Holland. Combine the anger from losing to the capitalist pigs to the north, with the rich SOB's in the IOC who have decided that 2008 will be baseball's last time as an Olympic sport, and you get yourself one very unhappy dictator . Fidel Castro on Wednesday blasted the "rich and powerful masters" of the Olympics for dropping baseball from the games beginning in 2012, and said two recent defeats to the United States doesn't mean Cuba can't still win gold in Beijing. In a brief but confusing essay, the ailing, 81-year-old former president noted the "thundering indignation of the fans because of Saturday's hard defeat." Fidel then rambled on a bit more, saying things like Cuba may not win the gold this year because of the jet lag from flying around the world from Cuba to China.
