Baseball Boss, a free Web-based baseball simulation game that combines fantasy baseball and virtual baseball cards, is auctioning off a limited edition set of its 1957 Spire collection. The set, which includes many of that era's baseball icons such as Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron, will be sold off one card at a time, with the auctions running today through Oct. 10 in the game's auction house. The virtual cards are being auctioned off individually but clustered by team in their reverse order of finish in 1957, and only one of each card will ever be made, the site says in a statement. The site's concept is pretty straightforward: create a fantasy baseball owner; open a starter pack of free virtual baseball cards; use those cards to form a fantasy baseball team; and then challenge other players. ...
