EarthLink was very gung-ho about doing city-wide Wi-Fi in the past, even going so far as to compete with Google for cities to bid on. Unfortunately for them, their flagship Wi-Fi project in Philadelphia has not produced the numbers theyd hoped for. As a result, EarthLink is pulling the plug on the project after failing to find a buyer for it.
