The Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) has issued a supplement to Decision 2008-006 , approving an application by Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. (MATL) to construct and operate a 230-kilovolt (kV) power line for the purpose of importing and exporting electricity between Lethbridge, Alberta and Great Falls, Montana. The EUB issued a conditional approval of the application on January 31, 2008, in which it directed that MATL establish a dispute resolution process to engage affected landowners along the approved route to address the mitigation of specific impacts on individual landowners. MATL was required to report back to the EUB about this process by April 30, 2008. After reviewing the documentation supplied by MATL and other parties regarding this process, the EUB is satisfied that MATL has fulfilled this requirement. The result is that an on-going consultative, interest-based dispute resolution process is in place that MATL and landowners have agreed to use to mitigate and resolve adverse impacts of the project. ...
