The Irish Open Source Technology Conference is pleased to announce that the Dublin Java User Group have teamed up as community partners to IOTC 2008. Their involvement is the second time IrishDev.com , the organisers of the Irish 'x' Technology Conference Series 2008, have collaborated with them. Barry Alistair , Conference Chair of IOTC 2008 said, "We're very pleased to have the Dublin Java User Group on board for the Irish Open Source Technology Conference. We worked with Luan O'Carroll and Jake Korab on last years IJTC 2007 , and their technological expertise, market knowledge and enthusiasm to bring a world class line-up of speakers to Ireland was invaluable." One of the great things about the IJTC 2007 was how the content managed to touch so many areas when it could so easily have fallen into the trap of being very project specific. One of the underlying themes to many of the presentations was the role Open Source software and Open Source projects are having in driving forward software development, standardization and interoperability. Luan O'Carroll , community leader for the Dublin Java User Group said " It was pretty clear from the Irish Java Technology Conference last year that Open Source has become a major force in many of the key areas that affect us as software developers on a day to day basis, but of course a Java conference could only address a fraction what is on offer in the Open Source world. ...
