Firstly, a big happy birthday to Leila for yesterday! After a long string of unfortunate events on her birthday over the years, including a remarkable run of random illnesses, I think she managed to get through a reasonably pleasant day, and also remain healthy for once! I guess it was fairly low key, with more crazy parties to come in the next while, but a fun time was had, we went out to dinner with Amber and had some particularly yummy pizza and so forth. It had seemed as though my aptitude at remembering dreams had been disappearing recently. As I've said in the past, this is actually bloody annoying as I find my dreams fascinating to recall, write about, think about and even learn from, as they offer an insight into my subconscious that I think often gets overwhelmed by my conscious mind trying to impose what I "should" be thinking or feeling about a particular event. With our trip to Europe less than two months away now, I guess it's not surprising that "holiday dreams" are going to become more than more common, but I've had a couple of interesting ones lately that I at least recall parts of, and are worth sharing. The first was a few nights back, some time over the long Easter weekend I think. It's always beneficial for my chances of remembering a dream that I'm able to lie in bed for a while after I've woken up and think about it immediately. That way it seems to shift from a "night-memory", which I'm pretty good at remember ...
