This is in effect the institutionalized observance of a religious ritual inflicted on the masses by the National Broadcaster who collects a licence fee from us to add insult to injury. Again RTE reporters report alleged religious occurrences as fact such as the hallucination at Knock, The Resurrection of Christ, etc Lame excuses are offered that it provides a pause for prayer and reflection. Why is it always at 12.00 pm & 6.00pm then if not simply to facilitate Catholics? It is obvious the purpose of section 2 of article 44 was to prohibit the de facto creation of a State Religion.
