like the USA Platinum Card does under Premium Global Assist? Probably not, if it does, it's not explicitly listed. I often find the list of benefits of not to be comprehensive. If not, I read you could buy travel medical insurance on your own, but that would a hassle to always remember to do that when you travel. It does sound like a good benefit as I have read more than a few stories on how the medical evacuation paid by AmEx using a helicopter or whatever saved the day. I like the IDC (International Dollar Card) although it costs $100 more than the USA Plat, but with IDC I could choose to have additional cardmembers without cost, and the Priority Pass membership. I looked on a website although not carefully, but it seems PP has most of the airport lounges in America covered. I fly domestic and international. BTW, I live in the USA. My other concern is the ease of paying the IDC Plat bill. Typically, I pay via EFT (electronic funds transfer). Wiring money to the UK would get a expensive and a hassle, as would going to my local AmEx travel office. I suppose I could mail an old-fashioned check by snail mail. Does IDC take EFT money? Any other negatives of the IDC Plat versus the regular USA Plat? IDC costs $100 more, but I would get PP and free additional cards if I choose to do so. IDC has MR First just like USA Plat which I could link with my other AmEx cards for free. Never heard of IDC until I read about it here on FT. Great site! ...
