"Divine Light of Lord Buddha" - A n exhibition of paintings by Prince Chand Recently an exhibition of paintings "Divine Light of Lord Buddha" by painter Prince Chand was inaugurated at newly relocated and spacious gallery of Studio Vasant at Hauz Khas. On this occasion Ajay Sharma (President, Baidyanath), his wife Meesha Sharma, Munish Kumar Gaur (Assistant Labour Commissioner, Govt. of Delhi), Nisha Gaur, Baljit Chadha, Manmohan Chadha, Pankaj Mohan, Rakesh Gupta (Director, Canvas Art Gallery), Pallav Jain (Director, Dhoomimal's City Gallery), Madhumita Puri (Secretary, Art for Prabhat) and many others were present there. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ajay Sharma and will continue till 26th July. India has the privilege to be home to many great religions, sects and cults. Buddhism has been the most international face of all the religions from India. In ancient times Buddhism found home in large parts of South and South East Asia. Buddhism evolved and appropriated the local cultural elements in all these lands. Chinese, Tibetans, Japanese, Thais, Sri Lankan etc. evolved their own version of Buddhism. Even within India it acquired different strains of Buddhism. Thus from early times Buddhism subsumed local cultural flavour. All these factors affected the art and religious rendering of Buddha.
