State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, a New York super delegate, has launched a convention blog on his campaign Web site. So far, there's only one post in which DiNapoli describes his arrival in Denver and says he felt "right at home when the cab driver broke a few traffic laws and dumped me off at the Sheraton." He also aptly describes the lobby of the Sheraton, which is being shared by the New York and California delegations, as "like a mini-political convention." According to a DiNapoli aide, the comptroller is writing the blog himself, which is not standard practice for all elected officials' blogs (they often sound suspiciously reminiscent of releases written by spokespeople). The comptroller, who was elevated to his post by his legislative colleagues over former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's objections last winter, will run statewide for the first time in 2010. DiNapoli, in his typical upbeat way, put a positive spin on Clinton's appearance at the New York delegation breakfast this morning, saying she adequately "sounded the call" in favor of Barack Obama - a feeling that was not universally shared. ...
