The MOD has just issued a couple of generous tributes to former Defence Secretary Des Browne from Sir Jock Stirrup, the Chief of the Defence Staff, and Lt. Gen Sir Nick Houghton, Chief of Joint Operations. As I blogged earlier today, for all the difficulties he experienced during his tenure, Mr Browne won the respect of the top brass, which is amply reflected in their tributes. I don't recall the Service chiefs being quite so gushing when John Reid moved on from the MOD... Her... ...
