| The five candidates seeking to replace outgoing DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones will appear together at a Democratic party meeting Saturday. The DeKalb Democrats will hold a breakfast meeting at the Piccadilly Restaurant near the Northlake Mall in Tucker. The five are vying to replace the term-limited Jones, who serves through year's end. "It's the first time that all five of them will be in the same place at the same time," said Angela Moore, spokesperson for the county Democratic party. The candidates are businessman Joe Bembry, county commissioner Burrell Ellis, Jones' chief of staff Ann L. Kimbrough, former state senator Steen Miles and state representative Stan Watson. ... |
