The founder of the Conservative Republican Alliance is bashing Gov. Charlie Crist's decision to step into a contentious GOP primary in Palm Beach County. Crist Friday endorsed attorney Tom Rooney , who faces two opponents in a bid to knock out freshman Democrat Rep. Tim Mahoney , but Javier Manjarres in a public letter to Crist and party chief Jim Greer questions the move -- aimed at quelling some of the bickering in the primary. "Now, is this fair to the other two worthy candidates running in the same primary race?" Manjarres writes. "No it isn't. Why would you side with this particular candidate and not with one of the others? Last time I checked, they are also Republican. Is it that they are too Conservative ? Not 'Rino' enough?" Manjarres also questions why the party hasn't endorsed all the Republican candidates statewide. "How about a nice pat on the back for Allen West who is running in District 22? Remember, that other highly contested Congressional seat. What are you waiting for? This kind of partisanship against your own party is pathetic and embarrassing." West is challenging Democratic Rep. Ron Klein , but has gotten little help from national Republicans who were once focused on ousting Klein. The New Republic recently called West's candidacy, "the GOP's greatest embarrassment of all..."
