| The U.S. Supreme Court has found some interesting penumbral "rights" in the U.S. Constitution, such as an unalienable right to kill inconvenient off-spring. But so far, they haven't found a right to good sex.
In Ecuador, a "Constitutional Assembly" is re-writing the South American country's constitution (to vest more power in President Rafael Correa). If one member of the assembly has her way, Ecuadorian woman will have a right to be satisfied in bed. New American Media reports : Assembly member María Soledad Vela has proposed a constitutional amendment that would protect women's right to sexual pleasure, reports the Ecuadorian newspaper El Mercurio. She explained that we live in a macho society in which women have been seen as breeders and only men can experience pleasure, and hoped the proposal would lead to better sexual education in the country and change people's ways of thinking about sex. The proposal, which could allow a woman to sue her husband for leaving her sexually unsatisfied, has generated controversy in the country. I can't imagine why.
This is the problem with allowing people to re-write a constitution: they'll add in pretty much anything.
And there would apparently be no equal right for men to be sexually satisfied.
At least we only have the Supreme Court that can re-write the Constitution, not an assembly that will put out any screwy idea that comes to their collective minds.
