Securing the borders of Colorado was never a primary goal for Dan Hawkins, but entering his third season, the atmosphere the coach has created with the Buffaloes is influencing local talent to stay home.
"Everyone loves him," Patrick Mahnke, a defensive back from Highlands Ranch, Colo., told the Boulder Daily Camera. "Everyone wants to be a part of what he's bringing to CU. I think it's the atmosphere he's bringing. It's a positive atmosphere. He's a positive person. He pays attention to details."
