FAISALABAD: Closure of thousands of industries after industrialists went into strike has so far caused losses amounting to Rs850 million. The strike, which continued on the second consecutive day, was called by the textile and other industries against the increase in electricity and gas tariff, uneven distribution of research and development funds and enhancement in interest rates by the banks. According to Textile Exporters Association, shutting down of thousands of factories has caused losses amounting to Rs850 million while shipment of export containers has declined by 25 per cent. ...
