The Bengals have announced backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start instead of Carson Palmer. Palmer has been playing with an injured throwing elbow and he wasn’t ruled out for Sunday by coach Marvin Lewis yet. Fitzpatrick, the mobile Harvard quarterback who used to be a backup in St. Louis, started for Palmer on Sept. 28 in a 20-12 loss to the Browns. Fitzpatrick completed 21-of-35 passes for 156 yards, 1 touchdown and three interceptions. He also ran for 41 yards but lost a fumble. That’s a big break for the Jets’ secondary, which has to worry about Chad Ocho Cinco and T.J.
