There are only seven days remaining before the primary elections will be held for the political party founded by Omar Torrijos. Balbina Herrera needed 40 days to reflect before making her decision whether or not to enter into the race for the presidency. According to the polling data at the time Balbina Herrera was leading her closest PRD competitor, Juan Carlos Navarro, by almost 30%, and those polls and numbers almost certainly helped her to decide to run. And Balbina managed to surpass even the worst allegation made against her - that she supposedly received campaign financing support from Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Personally, I stick with my prediction for a Juan Carlos Navarro win by a very tight overall margin - maybe three or four percentage points.
