A Canton man has admitted he traveled to Canton Centre Mall to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex. Richard Ash, 47, of 1718 Market Ave. N., pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, importuning, illegal cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Stark County Common Pleas Judge Taryn Heath will sentence Ash Aug. 11. When Ash went to the mall’s food court Jan. 19 to meet the girl, he was arrested by police instead. Ash met the girl, who actually was undercover police officer, on an Internet chat room. Ash told police he had received child pornography on his computer and attempted to meet young girls in the past. Officers later searched Ash’s home and 24 marijuana plants. ...
