(Telecompaper) Thai operator CAT Telecom is willing to buy TOT's stake in Thai Mobile for THB 2.4 billion. The two state-backed operators have been haggling for three years on the purchase price for the Thai Mobile joint venture. The troubled company has only 500,000 customers and carries a debt of THB 6 billion. Earlier, TOT had offered CAT THB 2.4 billion for CAT's 58 percent stake but CAT was seeking a better price. CAT Telecom has now offered the same price for TOT's 42 percent stake, the Bangkok Post writes citing CAT board chairman Sathit Limpongpan.
