7/15/08 - The two largest school districts in Livingston County have new elected officers. Both the Howell Public Schools and Brighton Area Schools Board of Education elected officers at separate meetings Monday night. On the Howell board, Ed Literski will serve as President while Jeannine Pratt will remain Vice President. Dan Fondriest was chosen as Treasurer while Michael Yenshaw will serve as Secretary. Board member Kim Shumaker also formally resigned as she will be moving out of the district with her family to Oxford. Board members all wished Shumaker well and publicly thanked former President Phil Westmoreland for his leadership over the past year. On the Brighton Board of Education, Bill Anderson was unanimously elected to serve as President. He was first elected in 2001. Greg Rassel and former district teacher Beth Minert were elected to Vice President and Secretary, respectively. Newcomer Cheryl Leach was elected treasurer. She and Jay Krause, who were both elected in the May school board election were sworn in last night. (JM) ...
