Botafogo announced Tuesday it had acquired Brazilian midfielder Carlos Alberto on a loan from Germany's Werder Bremen until the end of the year.
Carlos Alberto played for Sao Paulo earlier this season but was released by the club after an altercation with a teammate. He was transferred to Botafogo after Werder Bremen decided not to immediately recall him.
