| The former GM of the Dodgers, Paul DePodesta, snagged a job with the Padres front office after the Dodgers (naively, in my opinion) let him go two years ago. He recently started a blog, and I have to say that the more blogs we see from people in actual power in professional sports, the better the blogosphere will be.
Leonsis and Cuban have blogs, but they mostly seem to be centered on things other than their team, except when they link to another blog that has nice things to say about their team. And neither seem to be particularly insightful from an insider point of view (yeah, you fans are awesome! Caps ruuule!).
Our local teams don’t exactly do themselves proud either. Chris Brown is a paid blogger for the Bills, and he has by far the best “mainstream” blog, but we still have to take everything he chooses to address with a grain of salt. Still, his blog just shows how much more insight is available when you are connected with the team . Still, there is little chance of any dissension coming from there. I understand why, don’t get me wrong, but you need to balance that out with other views.
For the Sabres, Brian Wheeler allegedly writes a blog . But it sucks, and I think he’s a dick for never sending me an e-mail when I sent him numerous messages welcoming him to the blogosphere. Yes, I can be a bitter, bitter man. Still, no great insight coming from here.
