If demented and decidedly unrealistic football action sounds like a good thing to you, then Midway's announcement of Blitz: The League II should be good news indeed. The sequel to the hyper-violent football-inspired game comes with a new story mode, but fans will definitely be coming back for the over-the-top gameplay action. The series plays pretty loose with official rules, with no sign of penalties or referees: the rougher the better. "Professional football has long sought to gloss over the often brutal realities that surround the game and its players," reads the press release. Not so for the Blitz franchise, where the "watered-down, licensed competition" is to be stepped on, violently. Adding to the story mode and expanded rosters will be some new features that include better tackling controls, player-controlled touchdown celebrations, and a host of online multiplayer options.
