| Astoria: Some folks are psyched that one of the contestants on the new season of Project Runway , Stella Zotis, is from Astoria. She brings it old-school with that Noo Yawk accent and rock-type duds for Debbie Harry on her résumé, but her defeatist attitude in episode one didn't exactly represent for her hood, either … right? [ AstoriaNYC ] Bedford-Stuyvesant: Politically charged stickers abound here, including those calling for Dinkins's reelection. Bring back the gorgeous mosaic-meister! [ Newyorkshitty ] Carroll Gardens: No sooner did the hood's long-fought-for new zoning law (which redefines the meaning of a "narrow" street) go into effect than a stop-work order was slapped on the controversial 360 Smith Street project, because it plans to be 70 feet high rather than the new limit, 55 feet. It's like the folks behind the project, which is only 20 percent done, will appeal the stoppage.
