by Richard Piet KALAMAZOO - An early morning standoff Thursday ended peacefully when Kalamazoo Public Safety officers talked a 26-year-old gunman out of his residence in the 200 block of North Sage. Investigators say the man allegedly pointed a gun at two people, prompting the 4:10am call to police. When they arrived, the man took a hostage and holed up in the residence. It took more than two hours, but officers convinced the man to release the female hostage, then surrender. No one was hurt. He faces felonious assault charges. ...
