(Sacramento) In the biggest leap forward in chemicals policy in two decades, the Legislature passed AB 1879 (Feuer) and SB 509 (Simitian). AB 1879 passed off the Assembly Floor with a vote of 61:10 and SB 509 passed off the Senate with a vote of 25:12. "California's policy framework for addressing the dangers of hazardous chemicals is broken," said Feuer. "We should use a science-based approach to protect Californians from dangerous products.
