A flurry of gunfire resulted in at least two shooting victims Friday. About 9:20 p.m., multiple calls for shots fired were reported from Woodlawn and Royal avenues and Winnebago and Bruce streets on the city’s near northwest side and even as far north as Gladstone Avenue. “A brown minivan pulled up in the 900 block of North Winnebago, and the sliding door opened. A subject got out with an automatic-type weapon. One of the rounds struck a subject in the right arm,” Sgt. Sam Pobjecky said. Witnesses said the victim fled between houses and was found at a residence in the 900 block of Woodlawn suffering from a nonlife-threatening wound. The victim was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle, Pobjecky said. The shooter is described as a black male in his late teens. He is believed to be armed with an assault rifle, from which as many as 12 rounds were fired. The minivan is described as a 1990s brown Ford Windstar or Dodge Caravan. Police are also looking for a smaller four-door white vehicle. The age and condition of the victim were not available. About 10:50 p.m., police learned of a 15-year-old who showed up at Rockford Memorial Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He reportedly was shot in the area of Gilbert and Kilburn avenues. Resident Steven C.
