Sept 16, 2008 - ( NSV ) - South African President Thabo Mbeki arrived in Sudan on Monday to push for deferring of Bashir's ICC indictment and for an end to the Darfur crisis, just after having successfully helped end the Zimbabwe's crisis. Mbeki will soon join the Who’s Who among African heads of states for his stellar performance as the man who has been carrying the torch of the historic African National Congress (ANC) party since the legendary Nelson Mandela. Mr. Mbeki is serving his last year of his two-term presidency, with elections set for 2009. But even before that time comes to a close; even before all newspapers take notice of him as the man who just reconciled the parties into sharing power in Zimbabwe; and even before he finishes what he comes to do in Sudan---pushing for deferring of the ICC indictment against Bashir and to solve Darfur issue - Mr. Mbeki is being urged by many in his own party to resign after Friday high court’s ruling.
