TOKYO -- Time for another look at what's shaking in and around Akihabara, Tokyo's videogame district. First of all, the big release for the week is Sega's tactical RPG Valkyria Chronicles for the Playstation 3, out on Thursday. Promotional stands for the game have been up for a while now, but this week you can't walk into a shop without finding posters or videos of the game's trailer playing. What's replaced all those empty sold out boxes of the Wii Wheel ? Now it's stacks of the white GameCube controller for the Wii. No signs of sell-outs yet, but then again, it's not exactly as if GameCube controllers were hard to come by (and I still quite like my purple and orange ones). Walk up to the second floor of Sofmap, and in the stairwell you'll face a wall listing upcoming games with a box filled with reserve tickets. From its lack of tickets (there was only one left), it looks like the PlayStation 2 port of the awkwardly-titled visual novel D.C II - Da Capo II - ( D.C. II Plus Situation ) has fans pretty excited. The 9999 yen ($100) price tag gets you a few bonuses, including a telephone card, DVD, and original soundtrack. Looking at what's selling in terms of used games, it's no big surprise to see  Super Smash Bros. Brawl on top in the Wii section.
