Many technology companies soared to new heights in the last five years in providing value to the business community, according to a new report released today by the Aberdeen Group, a leading provider of fact-based research and market intelligence. The group released the Annual State of the Market Report , a compilation of five years' worth of research from 550,000 locations and over 2.5 million interviews, which determined which technology vendors have the greatest impact on business. In the report, Aberdeen listed the top 100 technology companies that had a major impact on companies nationwide. Microsoft made it to the number one spot, an achievement for the software company, which has been struggling recently with its unpopular Windows Vista and the denied bid for Yahoo! Oracle and SAP finished in second and third places, respectively. The other technology companies that made the top ten include IBM, Cisco, HP, Dell, Salesforce.com, EMC, and Sun Microsystems. Following close behind on the list are Google (#11), RIM (Blackberry, #12), AT&T (#15), Apple (#16), and Verizon (#23).
