Ian Williams the Inquirer , Thursday 4 September 2008. 08:34:00 Phenom FX coming in 2009 AMD IS READYING its top-of-the-range Phenom FX-series of CPUs for release during the second half of next year, according to sources. The new premium range is expected to be based on the Deneb FX core and built for the AM3 socket design. The company has traditionally used the FX brand to designate those processors specifically for gamers and enthusiasts, starting with the release of the Athlon 64 FX in 2003. Details are still a little hazy, but the new range will be built on 45nm technology and feature four cores and shared L3 cache. Being the best-of-the best they are also expected to clock at, or over, 3.0GHz.... ...
