This is one of my favourite campaigns because its very simple, easy to tell friends about, and if you are living in the US, easy to join in on the fun.  Convenient store goliath 7-11 is back with their quad-annual (not sure that's a word, i mean every four years) campaign that predicts the US Presidential election by offering Obama or McCain-themed coffee cups at each location - providing daily tracking of the nationwide consumer selection of each cup to predict the winner.  The fun started 8 years ago when 7-11 coffee cup purchases predicted Bush over Gore and (51% to 49%) and Bush over Kerry (51% to 49%). Last year more than 6 million coffee cup votes were cast.  Right now it looks like a landslide for Obama - based on the coffee cups votes thus far, tracked daily on the official campaign site - where he leads by a hot 59% to 41%.  Read more about the campaign via the official news release . A key learning with this campaign - tapping in to pop culture/current events.  7-11 does it brilliantly with this campaign, and Taco Bell is another good example of a brand that knows what the country is talking about and inserts itself appropriately into the fun.    ...
